The Clinton campaign holds the people in contempt. She clearly thinks Americans are both stupid and gullible. So much so, she propagates the most incredible conspiracy theories, as fact. And the corporate media rush to repeat the absurities.
The Clinton campaign claims that Donald Trump is too dangerous to be in control of US nuclear weapons. This is supposed to mean that if he were president, Trump would launch a nuclear war against Russia simply because he is too thin-skinned: "you can bait [him] with a tweet."
The campaign also claims that Putin is attempting to fix the presidential election so as to put Trump, his agent, in the Whitehouse: "Trump...is just a puppet for the Kremlin."
So, the Clinton campaign, supported by the corporate media, is asking the US electorate to believe, without any evidence, that Putin is attempting to make Trump the next president, and once elected he will launch an all out nuclear attack on Russia. This is a plot that is so absurd, no storyteller would even consider it.
That such an absurd scenario can be advanced with a straight face demonstrates how little respect Clinton has for the intellectual abilities of the American electorate. That the corporate media repeat these absurd fictions shows that this contempt is, for the neoliberal elite, simply common sense.
